Careers Programme Information

Every young person needs high-quality careers guidance to make informed decisions about their future and Mounts Bay. Every teacher and tutor takes responsibility for supporting students in their own individual roles.

Lindsay Masters is a Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser appointed by Mounts Bay Academy to work with students on career planning. She provides personalised careers advice and guidance across all years as well as working within the school to develop the careers education programme, organise career fairs, visits from employers, colleges and training providers to help inform and inspire young people. She is also responsible for the work experience programme for Year 10’s and for supporting Key Stage Option choices to Years 8, 9 and 11.

The careers education programme at Mounts Bay is part of an on-going evolving programme that is influenced by Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance, as well as feedback from students, parents and teachers. It also takes into account statutory guidance for careers guidance and access for education and training providers from the Department for Education. These, and raising aspirations, form the basis of careers guidance programme at Mounts Bay Academy.
