Hall for Cornwall Showcase 2024

Recently 64 of our brilliant MBA Dance and Drama students, from Year 7 through to Year 10, performed at the Hall for Cornwall in ‘Do Your Thing!’ They were all absolutely superb and really shone on the big stage. The MBA Dance Company performed an original piece titled ‘Migration’. It explored themes of flight, fleeing and moving together. It was set against a video projection of a murmuration of birds and reflected the transient nature of shifting patterns. The Year 10 BTEC dance group performed a professional piece by choreographer Jeremy Lepine, demonstrating high levels of technical excellence and skill. This group have shown such commitment and all achieved outstanding results for their performance unit.

This year saw the first time that MBA have taken a Drama piece to the showcase and what a wonderful performance the Year 10 group and Mrs Sudworth delivered of ‘Our Country’s Good’. It really highlighted the incredible talent and hard work of our young performers.

Seven of our dancers were also selected for the advanced dance piece to perform a new work alongside students from other schools. This was a demanding piece created by artist Grace Murdoch and our dancers really rose to the challenge, delivering a fantastic performance.

The feedback from parents and audience members has been outstanding and it was a real celebration of our students and the Performing Arts at MBA.  Thank you to the Hall for Cornwall and everyone who supported this amazing opportunity for our students.

We are incredibly proud of all the young people that were involved!
