It was fantastic to welcome visitors to our Zero Waste Christmas Fayre on Tuesday evening. There was so much going on at the very well attended event. There were lots inspirational ideas for celebrating Christmas in an environmentally kinder way including ideas for homemade gifts and decorations, vintage clothes, homemade food, poetry gifting, plants, locally grown food from Bosavern Farm, food refills from Archie Browns and inspiring films including a message from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. There was also a vintage clothing fashion show with students modelling some wonderful outfits. Huge thanks to Lisa and Natalie from SUEZ, Rachel Yates from Plastic Free Penzance and Councillor Jonathan How, Mayor of Penzance who all were brave enough to get up on the stage at the Question Time event. Student Ivy, a member of the Academy’s Junior Leadership team for 2022/23, chaired the event as the panel faced questions put to them by students and staff.
