Year 7 Rugby

Congratulations the year 7 rugby 7’s team who played exceptionally well in the county rugby 7’s competition at Pool school. They had to finish 1st or 2nd in their group to qualify and after some tight games against Fowey, Penrice, and Pool they came 2nd in the group stages. They did take a heavy defeat to Penryn who finished first. In the 1/4 final they had to play a strong Redruth side, The boys started playing with a lot more confidence and managed a great win by one try.
Having been beaten by Penryn in the group stages the boys were hoping for revenge as they had to face them again in the semi final. The game was end to end with nothing in it and unfortunately the Penryn side scored at the death to reach the final.
The team played better and better as the competition went on which showed they made excellent progress and learnt some of the techniques for 7 a side rugby which is very different to the full side version. The team was:
Sam Lewis
James Lambourn
Conor George
Finn Wallis
Shea Cornish
Luke Flak
Dan R Evans
Max Armstrong
Sabby Friggens
Charlie Baker
