On Wednesday 13th February three Year 10 students attended a Maths competition at Richard Lander School. The challenge was to gain as many points as possible across six rounds of Maths questions. Working under a time limit, teams had to work together to complete questions on problem solving, absolute value and, in the last round, working individually to answer questions that would lead into other questions. Fourteen teams from all over Cornwall competed for the chance to go to Exeter to participate in the Nationals. Being one member short, the Mounts Bay team was at a slight disadvantage but still did incredibly well against Cornwall’s finest Mathematicians. Although coming joint seventh, the students found it a very educational experience.
