Event: National U13’s Inter Association’s Cup 3rd Round
Date: 5th December 2012
Score / Result: Poole-East Dorset SFA U13’s 2 – 4 West Cornwall SFA U13’s
West Cornwall got of to another great start in game going 1-0 up in the 1st half thanks to a delicate chip over the Goal Keeper. The goal scorer was William Trew and the shot was approximately 20 yards out and gave West Cornwall the edge in what was a highly contested 1st half going in at half time 1-0 leaders.
After the break, Poole-East Dorset made it 1-1 after good link up play between the forward and winger resulting in a good finish shooting across the West Cornwall Goal Keeper from a tight angle from inside the box. West Cornwall soon restored the lead with a finish from Finn Cross after a neat one-two move with Luke Jephcott to make it 2-1 and Finn again made it 3-1 to end a good phase of ball retention.
The 4th goal and the best goal of the match had to go to Oliver Walker who rifled a 35 yard 1st time shot into the top corner of the net which looped over the goal keeper’s head after a clearance was made from a West Cornwall attacking corner. The opposition soon made it 4-2 after a mix up in the West Cornwall defense from a corner.
All players did themselves, their schools and their District proud as their manner, behavior and professionalism was exemplary on and off the pitch.
