Super Saturday

Report by Mr Veal

On Saturday 22nd November we took 28 year 7 pupils to the home of premiership rugby side Exeter Chiefs. We set off nice and early ready for a training session at 10 am. This was taken by players from Exeter and one of them was the current England player Tom Johnson!

Our own local hero Luke Cowan-Dickie also took the time to sign autographs.

During the morning the pupils were given a tour of the ground and a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the ice baths, changing rooms and fitness areas. This was fascinating and the pupils learnt that there was a lot of detail into preparing for a match.

The boys were then lucky enough to make the guard of honour as the players ran onto the pitch for the match in front over 10,000 fans. At half time the MBA pupils did a lap of the ground soaking up all the cheers from the crowd.

A fantastic day was had by all and some of the year 7 s mentioned it was inspiring. We must have been a good luck charm as Exeter recorded a fine win over London Wasps with ex MBA England star Jack Nowell scoring two tries!!
