Singing workshop with Mary Woodvine
Report by Bridie Simons
This week, some of the Arts Award students took part in a singing workshop with Mary Woodvine. This was a really good experience and helped a lot with our singing technique. We started off by warming up our body’s and our voice. We then did some very helpful breathing exercises and tongue twisters to improve on our diction. Mary then taught us some rounds; these songs were really fun to learn but also challenging and the end result sounded really good.
After the workshop we had a question and answers session. It was really interesting to hear about what films and plays Mary had been in and how she had got the opportunity, it really gave an insight into what the industry is like and about the competition we might face.
Thank you Mary, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and we all learnt something.
