We launched our amazing new live music venue ‘The Locker’ last Friday, with an absolutely spellbinding gig from Senara Rendell, the first of our weekly Live Music Friday lunch time concerts, which for the first half term of the year will be showcasing our wonderful Qube Records artists. Well over 100 students packed themselves in and were transfixed by a beautifully paced set by our current Artist of the Year Senara. She started with her next single ‘Smiling’, which she recently shot a music video for and followed straight into two more songs from her recent EP Senara. She then played a brand new song which was a huge treat for the ever growing audience. She finished her set with two covers to a fantastic reception. It was the longest set Senara has played to date and a good warm up for the gigs she has coming up. Huge thanks to all the tech team, especially Lewis Williams, who programmed the amazing visuals. If you enjoyed Senara’s songs you can find them in all the usual places on Spotify, iTunes and you can also contact her for CDs. This week’s Live Music Friday features head girl Emily Rees, who is previewing her brand new EP, so keep an eye out next week for a full report!
Qube Records has a busy couple of months on the promotion trail coming up, with several radio interviews and live sessions in the diary. First up we return to Inside Local Music with Simon Nield on Source FM on 25th October. We are then on Sunday Night Noxious Society, with our good friend and supporter Rob Noxious on Sunday 4th November, and we are playing live with Ian Semple on Saturday the 10th November both on Coast FM. Save the dates!
