This week, Mounts Bay began work on becoming a UNICEF Rights Respecting Academy.
UNICEF aims to promote children’s rights in schools in two ways: by supporting schools to ensure that rights are embedded in their ethos and policy-making; and by offering resources and activities to ensure that children and young people can learn about children’s rights in the classroom and beyond.
This weeks assemblies introduced students to the UN Convention on Children’s Rights and asked house groups to investigate and adopt one of the articles, which they will then study, promote and raise funds for over the course of the year. A competition to design a Mounts Bay logo was also set up.
Deadlines for entry from each tutor group to Ms Kennedy by 7th November please.
