Primary Badminton

A great afternoon at Mounts Bay Academy saw the Penwith area primary school badminton finals played out. Teams from years 5 and 6 at GEMS Bolitho, Pendeen, Mousehole and St Piran had qualified from the previous rounds held over the last month.

High quality badminton was the order of the day as several games featured long rallies and evenly matched players resulting in some tight scoring fixtures.

In the final round of games the battle for the two school games places available was fought out, with Mousehole defeating Pendeen to overtake St Pirans by a total of just 2 points scored throughout the whole tournament. Bolitho won all 3 of their games to win the tournament and progress to the school games aslo.

The fixtures were kindly scored, timed and umpired from a member of staff from each school along with assitance from Mounts Bay badminton clubs Jon Wotton and Cath Bick.

Total Points –

Bolitho 517

Mousehole 376

St Piran 374
