Year 10 took part in a taster day at Penwith College on Tuesday to help inform their future pathways. They eagerly walked down to the college and were then sent on their ways to their respective courses with maps and instructions on how to get about the college. All in all it was a very successful and enjoyable day with students coming away more informed about what they want to do and having a sense of independence that college life can offer them. The feedback in particular from Shannon Leigh one of our Year 10 students says it all.
“As soon as I walked through the gates I felt like I was welcome. My favourite part was my first session Sport and Public Service. I learnt that believing you can do something is what will make you successful, and that really inspired me to try harder and challenge myself. I now know that my future career is either going to be in the police force or a PE teacher and believe that I will achieve this if I work hard for it and challenge myself. I would just like to say a big thank you to all of the lecturers and students at Penwith College that gave me the most amazing experience, helped me believe in myself and most importantly changed my attitude to life.”
