Last weekend we took over a dozen students from MBA and Fowey River Academy to the Isles of Scilly to compete in the 4th swimrun, also known as the ÖTILLÖ, on St Mary’s. This was our first visit to this event and I’m pretty sure it won’t be our last! The students had to endure a terrible journey on the Scillionion and then only had a limited time to prepare themselves for the race. Unfortunately, due to the severe sea conditions health and safety considerations meant the swimrun was reduced to shoulder height wades. The students showed great resilience and determination to battle the tough conditions and the poor weather. They all performed amazingly well and credit must go to Jude who won the boys event for the second year running!
