A small group of students are currently attending the Rotorua Girls High School in New Zealand as part of our exchange programme and we have just received a delightful e-mail with news of their progress from the school.
“We have our three lovely visitors in our school. They arrived safely on Thursday evening and were in school on Friday. They were officially welcomed into RGHS with a Powhiri (Maori welcome).
Both girls spoke to their families on Friday and are now fully into their creative timetables studying: Business, Graphics, Physical Education, Fashion and Textiles, Music, and Maori Performing Arts. We have given them a study period so they can catch up on work set from home.
Ella and Jessie both had busy weekends sightseeing and are settling in.
Here is a photo we took of Ella and Jessie this morning with our school ARENA (three tiered Gymnasium) in the background.
Maddy is biking to school and looks the part in a New Zealand shirt. She is having fun and was taken around Rotorua yesterday.
Really impressed to hear you are an Academy and would love to hear more as to how you became one.
Wishing you all well at Mounts Bay Academy.“
