On Thursday 8th March, eight Year 10 students travelled up to Newquay Tretherras to attend a Maths Feast competition in Further Maths. There were many different questions requiring many different techniques. The first section was ‘no words’ so you had to work out the question and what to do even though no worded instructions were given. The second section was the problem solving round which had six different questions given to you and the team selected four to be marked. The third round was a set of questions relating to a cube and ‘the dice cycle’. This was complicated but very interesting. The final round was the hexagon challenge which required working out problems in order to solve other problems. The day was full of challenges and really helped us improve our Maths.
