On 10th May I took part in a mens’ Football Final. I played for Marazion Blues Reserves and our opponents were Camborne Park. When the first whistle went we were 1-0 up in the first ten minutes playing against the wind. Then we let in a goal where they took a corner and the force of the wind took the ball near our goalkeeper. This made it 1-1. Then five minutes before half-time they scored again – so we went in at half-time with them 2-1 up.
In the second half we hit the post and kept up consistent pressure trying to score another goal. At the very end of the game Camborne were awarded a penalty and scored it to make the final score 3-1.
At the end I collected my runners up medal and I felt proud, not that we had lost the game, but that we got to the final and had fought hard.
