The AllBlacks were roused to an historic victory by the singing of Elizabeth Marvelly an ex Mounts Bay student. Since joining the first New Zealand exchange to Penzance in 2005 Elizabeth Marvelly has shared her remarkable singing talents to millions of people as a regular performer at All Black rugby matches and as the support act for the popular tour by PaulPotts in the UK and Europe. She came to Penzance for Christmas in 2005 for a month and became a member of the school for the inaugural exchange with Rotorua Girls High School. Since then 20 students have visited the school for a trip of a lifetime. We welcome this years students from Rotorua in November.
Lizzie stayed with the family of the Headteacher in 2005 and she welcomed them in New Zealand during the summer of 2006. Lizzie enjoyed her trip to Mounts Bay and was amazed by snow on Christmas eve and sang beautifully in the Mounts Bay Carol service with her professionalism being evident as a 15 year old. She is now a household name in New Zealand and is a judge on New Zealand’s got Talent and is keeping cool when her name is linked to AllBlacks. She returned to Mounts Bay in 2010 and spoke to Media students about the pros and cons of life as a famous singer. She is a person to watch and may be singing in the final next Sunday
