This week MBA opened it’s arms once again to students and staff from Lilleskool in Helsingor, Denmark.
The second part of our annual exchange programme got off to an emotional start on Monday evening when we greeted our Danish friends on the platform at Penzance Station. A day in lessons (and uniform!) followed a few short hours later, leaving some of the visiting students pretty much exhausted by the end of day one.
Our guests spent the week with the families of their hosting students in Year 8 and 9, fully immersing themselves not only in Academy life but also getting out and about and sampling some of the best attractions and activities Cornwall has to offer, including gig rowing, Land’s End and the Minack Theatre.
Tuesday saw our intrepid young people don wetsuits and hit the surf off the beach at Praa Sands, Global Boarders providing the expertise to get many of them to stand up and leaving all of them with some special – though chilly – memories.
St Ives, fish and chips, pasties and cricket on Thursday rounded off what has been yet another memorable exchange visit from Lilleskool. We look forward very much to visiting them with a new group of MBA students in September.
