Cricketers Through to Final

Report by Billy Edwards

On Thursday 16th June the Mounts Bay Year 10 Cricket team made the short  journey to Penzance Cricket Club to play in the County Cup semi final against Hayle School.

After losing the toss Hayle put us into bat. Will Trenoweth and Alex Barrett opened the batting; after a solid start Alex was bowled in the fifth over. James Williamson and Will Trenoweth carried on from a good start and were scoring at a very quick rate. In the 18th over Will Trenoweth eventually got bowled, but only after making a fantastic 77. Billy Edwards then came in and got James Williamson the strike, who went on to score a magnificent 100. The Mounts Bay innings came to a close with James on 105 not out, Billy Edwards 3 not out and Mounts Bay finishing on 224-2. After some great bowling from Mounts Bay, Hayle were all out for 69 with Jack Edwards, Josh Storey, Ali Stacey, Joe Sharp, Jacob Pengelly and Harry Edwards all taking wickets.

Mounts Bay now play in the final on Tuesday 21st of June at Grampound Road.
