Every young person needs high-quality careers guidance to make informed decisions about their future and Mounts Bay. Every teacher and tutor takes responsibility for supporting students in their own individual roles.
Lindsay Masters is a Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser appointed by Mounts Bay Academy full time to work with students on career planning. She provides bespoke careers advice and guidance across all years as well as working within the school to develop the careers education programme, organise career fairs and visits from employers, colleges and training providers to help inform young people. In addition, she is responsible for the work experience programme for Year 10’s and for supporting Key Stage Option choices to Years 8, 9 and 11.
The careers education programme at Mounts Bay is part of an on-going evolving programme that is influenced by Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance, feedback from students, labour market information in preparing students for the world of work and education, from the Department for Education and the Cornwall Careers Offer. These, and many other issues, form the basis of careers guidance programme in Mounts Bay Academy.
