Despite the national trend of a decrease in academic performance, we are pleased to announce our best ever GCSE results for the class of 2012 for the fifth year in succession. An outstanding 97.1% of our students achieved 5 A*-C grades with 59% achieving 5 A* – C including English and Mathematics.
The success of our students now means that the average points score (the benchmark the government uses to measure the performance of schools nationally) has risen to a phenomenal 688, which is over 200 points above the 2011 average for Cornwall.
Our top achieving student, Ella Moseley, achieved a points score of an amazing 1138 on her way to her 15 A or A* grades, narrowly pipping Turner Venn who also achieved 15 GCSEs at A or A*. Other highlights include Tom Lambourn and Lara Ruetsch who both achieved 13 A or A* grades and over a third of our students achieved 3 A or A* grades.
Sara Davey, Academy Principal said “…once again our staff and students have led the way due to their hard work and dedication. But it’s not just about the subjects in the English Baccalaureate, we have seen some outstanding results in Music with over 50% of students achieving A or A* results and 92% of the cohort gained a GCSE or equivalent in Sport.”
WELL DONE EVERYBODY!
