ACE Fundraising

There have been lots of fundraising activities taking place around the Academy this term to raise money for ACE, a charity which aims to aid conservation through education in Africa. At Mounts Bay Academy we are aiming to raise £5,000 to finance the construction of a new classroom in Uganda.

There have been a number of fundraising initiatives since Easter and students in Years 7 to 10 have thrown themselves into a House competition to see which House can raise the most money. There are various schemes planned including cake sales, penalty shoot outs, an auction, soak the teacher and a sponsored horse ride. So far notable successful fundraising activities have resulted in Blue House in Year 10 raising £51.50 and Red House in Year 8 raising an amazing £82.

Tutor groups need to let Ms Kennedy know what their plans are immediately after half-term. Just remember if each student can raise £8 we will smash our target.

After half-term you will be able to keep up to date with House running totals which will be posted in the newsletter and in Reception. Winners will be announced at the end of term assemblies. Don’t forget to get your green ACE band selling for only £1 each.
