County Football Success
On Saturday 10th May 2014 four MBA students were part of the Cornwall Schools FA U14s squad who were crowned South West County’s League Champions and were presented with the Reed Trophy.
Students Jacob Trudgeon, Josh Otto, Max Armstrong and Sam Lewis were part of the 20 man squad who played in the games that lead to the victory.
This is the first time in the competitions 45 year history that Cornwall have been victorious. Cornwall sealed the Trophy by winning their final league game of the season beating Berkshire Schools FA 4-0 at Truro City Football Club.
Full County representation in Cornwall usually does not occur until the U16 age group as players compete in their respective District competitions at U13, U14 & U15s. However, this season the West Cornwall Schools FA U14 squad have been given the honour to represent their full County as well as their own District duties due to the success of last season winning the U13 District National Cup. It was felt an injustice to the players development to not enter them into the full County competition this season, a decision that was truly worth it and has brought the boys even more success this season.
