The Royal Cornwall Show visit is the biggest trip we run for the students and seems to get bigger year on year. This year was no exception and on Friday, 345 students boarded the buses and coaches to Wadebridge.
The day is an opportunity for all that is great in Cornwall to be showcased to the world and the students had the opportunity to explore and investigate all that was on offer.
There were many activities on display at many of the stands, and the students got fully involved in these, in many cases getting some very valuable hands-on experience. Some students were interviewed on BBC Radio Cornwall and Pirate FM, and you may have been lucky enough to hear them on air. All students came home with bags of freebies. There really should be no excuse for not having a pen this year!
Each year it is very rewarding when members of the public approach you and express their gratitude and delight at the conduct of the students and this year was no exception. This included our own local MP, Derek Thomas, who spoke to Mr Elliott with high praise for the students.
With all these trips, thanks must go to all the staff who help and support the day both at the show and back at school.
The date for next year is already on the calendar. Maybe we should plan to take 400 students next time!
