Cross Country

Report by Mr Eddy

The annual County schools cross country took place on Saturday the

23rd January at Newquay sports centre, a new venue this year.
The races began at 10am with the intermediate years 10/11 and senior

girls years 12/13. Mounts Bay intermediate girls performed

outstandingly with three being selected for the Cornwall schools team.

Grace Brock’s recent hard work in training paid off with a

finish in first place, not only that, she beat all the senior girls

as well as her own category of intermediates. Grace took to the front

from the off and from there she never looked back and had an outstanding run.

She will be looking for selection into the English schools vests this

year for sure. Joining her in the Cornwall team will be Imogen Wood

narrowly missing out on a medal and Katie Walker. Well done girls!
Katie Trehair – Davies had another top finish for MBA finishing in 8th

place, with several other students finishing in the top 20 in the minor girls. The

boys also performed well in their intermediate race, especially when

waiting 2 hours to race and the course becoming even more cut up.
All Mounts Bay Academy students worked hard in tough windy and muddy conditions.

Congratulations to them all.
