Volleyball

Over 30 pupils attended Mounts Bay for the Volleyball School Games qualification event. The event saw Year 7 – 11 Boys and Girls compete from Mounts Bay, Humphry Davy and St Ives.
The competition took place inside the Dome due to the wind conditions outside. Michael Jenkin the Cornwall Academy Volleyball coach lead a 30 minute skill based session which was followed by a round robin competition. There were three indoor courts for the various ages and gender to compete. Mounts Bay Year 9 pupils did an excellent job officiating and helping out at the event, these pupils are looking to progress onto the Sports Leaders course next year.

The skill level of the pupils improved massively from start to finish. Hopefully we can build upon this competition next year and extend the opportunity of participation for the pupils.
