This week saw the triumphant release of Ferris Wheel, the first album
to be released on our label Qube Records.
Launch week started with a record deal signing session, when all the
artists came and signed their agreements assuring they will receive
100% of the money raised by sales of the album.
The album went live on Wednesday and to mark the occasion we threw a
huge launch party in the hall, which was organised and run by gold
arts award students Darcy Blewett and Callum Williams. The show kicked
off with dance from Year 7 crew Elemental, and was followed by a
fashion show by Kate Plumtree and a selection of students who had been
working with her through the day. The rest of the first half was made
up of acoustic performers, setting the scene for what was to come.
The second half featured a complete live performance of the album,
headlined by The Cold Six Hundred. The event was a roaring success,
and there a few very special people in the audience including Grace
Jones/Massive Attack bassist Malcolm Joseph, Mawgan Lewis of Purple
Knif Music Videos and sound man extraordinaire Hoby Allen.
The album is available on CD now, and online through iTunes, spotify,
Amazon, Apple music and most other online dealers, search for Ferris
