Year 8 students have all been working towards completing their John Muir Award this year. Some students have had to catch up on activity days and were working on completing these before half-term. The students developed their outdoor skills at Trevaylor and Tehidy Woods. Rope work seemed to be the theme of the week and one group were taught how to build their own low level rope course. This involved a considerable amount of teamwork and the ability to design and construct a pulley system to tension the ropes.
Thursday’s group all expressed a fear of heights but were determined to reach the top of the high Pines at Tehidy Wood. They were a very musical group and their harmonies were beautiful. The songs in the woods were brilliant.
